GUIDELINES FOR APPLY UNDER CMEEF SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM A

The last date for submission of Application is Jan 31, 2018

A. Conditions of Eligibility:

a. Undergraduate National Programme

i. The candidate must be having domicile of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
ii. The candidate must be fulfilling the admission criteria (merit) for the degree programme in the approved institution in one of the approved discipline/field.
iii. Must not be the recipient of any other scholarship for the degree programme.
iv. Monthly income of the candidate’s parents/guardian (from all sources) shall not exceed Rs, 100,000/-.

b. Graduate National Programme

i. The candidate must be having domicile of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
ii. The candidate must be fulfilling the admission criteria (merit) or have a valid offer of admission, in the approved discipline for MS/MPhil/PhD in approved institution/university.
iii. The candidate’s age must be less than 50 years on the last date of the receipt of the application as advertised by the institutions.
iv. The candidate must have first-class academic career (minimum first division or CGPA of 3.00/4.00 or 3.75/5 in a semester system).
v. Must not be in recipient of any other scholarship for the degree programme.
vi. Monthly income of the candidate’s parents/guardian (from all sources) shall not exceed Rs, 100,000/-.
c. Graduate International Programme
i. The candidate must be domicile of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
ii. The candidate’s age must be less than 45 years on the last date set for the receipt of application.
iii. Must have first-class academic career (minimum first division or CGPA of 3.00/4.00 or 3.75/5 in a semester system).
iv. Must have a valid unconditional offer of admission in any one of the approved PhD/DPhil degree programmes in any one of the top 100 universities of the world.
v. Must not be in recipient of any other scholarship or financial assistance awarded for the degree programme.
vi. Have minimum 60% score in GRE (subject)
B. Scholarship Coverage:-
i. The scholarship under the CMEEF shall cover full institutional fees (admission fee, tuition fee, lab and library fees etc), hostel charges, mess charges and a monthly sustenance allowance/stipend of Rs.5000/- for undergraduate and graduate programs in national institutions for the standard period of study.
ii. The scholarship coverage for International scholars under the CMEEF shall be decided by the SMC keeping in view the available resources.

C. How to apply:

a. Graduate and under Graduate National Scholarships

i. Scholarships under the CMEEF shall be awarded in collaboration with the approved universities/institutions through agreements/ MoUs. The candidate shall apply directly to the selected institution in the approved discipline. Applications addressed to PMU for the undergraduate/graduate national program shall not be entertained.
ii. For the undergraduate national programme, the students shall be recommended by the institutions through internal scholarship scrutiny committees having a representative of the Higher Education Department as member and list of recommended candidates shall be forwarded to the department for approval of SMC and release of funds.
iii. For the graduate national program, in case the number of candidates for the scholarship exceeds 05 (five), the institution shall shortlist/recommend five candidates on the merit-cum-need basis for each scholarship for the interview before the SMC.
iv. The selection shall be made by the Scholarship Management Committee on the basis of a quantification formula duly approved by the Board.

b. Graduate International under CMEEF

i. Candidates having a valid unconditional offer of admission for the approved discipline/institution shall apply on the prescribed form to PMU-HED.
ii. The applications after scrutiny by the SMC or its Co-opted scrutiny committee be forwarded for an interview to the SMC.
iii. The selection shall be made by SMC on the basis of a quantification formula duly approved by the Board.
iv. A candidate shall appear before the Board only in one discipline/specialization.
v. The institutional fees shall be disbursed to the institution’s bank account via annual/biannual Bank Transfer whereas the living and other expenses to the candidate's personal account at the country of study on the quarterly basis.
vi. The scholarship shall be awarded initially for one year, extendable up-to-standard length of the approved program or four year whichever is less subject to satisfactory report every year to be reviewed and approved by SMC.
vii. The procedure followed by HEC shall be adopted for surety of return.
viii. Change of the main subject shall not be allowed, however, a change in the title of a thesis may be allowed if the supervisor so desires.
ix. In case of undesirable events, the student may be allowed to change the supervisor on the approval of SMC.
