In response to the needs of a developing country like Pakistan the department of sociology, drawing upon its research and teaching experience has established a degree program in population sciences. Population sciences is a broad social science discipline concerned with the study of human population in relation to their size, composition and geographical distribution the changes which occur in these our time and the factors associated with changes primarily health. The concepts of population sciences have an important role to play in understanding of social change Studying Population Science helps understand the facts of human populations and analysis for demographic data. By studying various factors, it helps in identifying and resolving population issues, including public health, migration and other such concerns. Moreover, it also helps government to plan in areas of health, education, housing and welfare.
