A freelance paralegal otherwise referred to as a contract or virtual paralegal is in every sense of the word a business owner. Students under this program will learn about the legal system and the importance of legal ethics from skilled instructors who are practicing judges, attorneys and paralegals—all to get exposure in different types of law and legal issues, including family law, criminal law and civil litigation. It also offers career relevant skills one need to provide in all areas of the legal system, including courts, law firms and government agencies, while under the supervision of an attorney. Freelance paralegals, also called a contract paralegals, provide paralegal services to attorneys on a contract basis. Rather than work directly for attorneys, law firms or governmental organizations as an employee on payroll, freelance paralegals can work as independent contractors.
