The primary objective of this major is to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the causes, prevention and containment of conflict, and of theoretical and practical approaches to conflict resolution and peacebuilding. Particular emphasis is given to the relevance of these issues to Australia, Asia and the Pacific, and the major emphasises both the historical and contemporary contexts in which conflicts occur. Some degree career options Include Communication Coordinator/Assistant, Community Development Organizer, Human/Civil Rights Officer, Journalist etc.
