When it comes to food, what people sometimes ignore is the nutrition value and whether or not the food is safe to consume or not. Food scientists are the ones that take care of it. Food science being an inter-disciplinary field of biology, biochemistry and chemical engineering provides a better understanding of the food’s chemical makeup, nutritious values and eventually creating a product that is good for the health of general public. Food scientist and technologist are also responsible for ensuring the preservation, processing and packaging of the food to avoid any circumstances that will cause the deterioration of the food. They are like the stewards of the food that people consume.
