Computer (Systems) Engineering enables students to engage in the design of integrated hardware and software solutions for technical problems. They are involved in many aspects of computing, from the design of individual microprocessors, personal computers, and supercomputers, to circuit design. The degree program in Computer Systems Engineering teach the students the planning, development, testing and supervision of computer hardware manufacturing, as well as computer networks for the transmission of data and multimedia. Computer systems engineers provide advice to clients regarding the appropriate hardware and/or software to ensure that their computer systems meet their needs. He or she may also be involved in a hands-on manner during the acquisition, installation, testing, and implementation phases of the project. He or she evaluates current systems for effectiveness, makes recommendations regarding the scalability of such systems, and troubleshoots any problems that arise during the use of the system.
