Ceramic design is an art degree related with the design or mass production of wide range of pottery products which include use of clay. The range of products that ceramic designer specializes are sculpture design, furniture design, garden ceramics, wall and floor tiles and jewellery design. A degree program in ceramic design is usually formulated to equip student with both theoretical knowledge as well as practical experience. Students undertake courses that include drawing, drafting, culture connection, material understanding and courses that enhance creativity and skill development. As for the careers ceramic designers may choose to work for large companies where they are expected to interpret ideas into ground breaking designs while other may choose to work individually providing design and mass production by taking projects from companies.
